Robertson Library Movie Night

It’s time to get spooky!

Celebrate Halloween and el día de los muertos with a Robertson Library movie night. Vote here, on instagram, or visit the library to place your selection for your favourite popcorn flick.

Then join us on Tuesday October 29th in RL room 235 for the main event; doors open at 6pm, showtime at 6:30. All UPEI students, faculty, and staff are welcome - costumes encouraged.

Movie selections are from the library's video databases: Audio Cine Films offers access to hundreds of feature films from Disney, Pixar, Sony, MGM, United Artists, and more; Criterion-on-Demand's title selection includes classics, new releases, foreign films, literary adaptations, documentaries, animated titles, and independent features.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Please be aware that Robertson Library will be closed this upcoming Monday, September 30th, in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Starting September 27th, we will have a special display available in the lobby library featuring an array of resources that can better educate us on the themes of truth and reconciliation. In anticipation of Mi'kmaq History month, you can also expect to find resources on the Mi'kmaq peoples, Epekwitk (the land otherwise called Prince Edward Island), and the deeply harmful use of Residential and Day schools within the Canadian Maritimes.

There is also an excellent educational display called "Yes, Here Too" in Kelley Memorial Building Room that explores the shameful history of Indian Day Schools and Residential Schools in Canada's Maritimes. You can read more about this here.

Gender Equality Week | Special Display

Join us in celebrating Gender Equality Week! Our library is featuring a special display for the occasion, available from September 20th to September 27th, where you'll be able to discover inspiring resources about the historic and ongoing fight for gender equality in our society.

Our special display can be found in the northern portion of the library lobby; it can be visited any time that the library is open!
