Mobility in the Robertson Library

There are automatic doors at the entrances to the Robertson Library building, as well as an automatic doors at the entrance and exit of the Library itself.

The Upper Level of the Library is accessible by elevator.

Desk height service counters are provided on each side of the Service Desk.

Service animals are allowed in the library.

Wheelchair-accessible washrooms

Washrooms on the Main Level and the Upper Level have automatic doors and a wheelchair accessible cubicle. 


A magnifying glass may be borrowed from staff at the Service Desk. In addition, printers, copiers, and scanners are available in the Learning Commons.

Library Services


Dells - accessibility features built into the Windows operating system. All Dell computers in the Library also have the NDVA screen reader software installed.

Macs - accessibility features built into the OS X operating system

Research Assistance

Research, reference, or mediated assistance is available from Service Desk staff. This includes conducting or assisting with searches of the Library Catalogue, electronic databases, and print indexes. Library tours can also be arranged. To ensure staff availability, please telephone or email to make advance arrangements with Service Desk staff (902-566-0583 or Students can also connect with the librarian associated with their faculty or program and request an appointment for research support. 

Requesting or Retrieving library materials

Student can request a scan of a journal article or book chapter from the Library's print collection using the Interlibrary Loan service form. Library staff will assist students in retrieving materials within a 24 hour response time Monday to Friday. Items requested on the weekend will be provided by 5 p.m. Monday. Other University Services
