Library Orientation Tours in September

Take advantage of one of the Library Orientation Tours offered throughout September.  Find out how to find your way around the Library, and what resources and services are offered. (Be sure to fill out a ballot to win a prize.)

Pre-registration is not required; however, each tour is limited to 5 people.  If you wish to be assured of being able to go on a specific tour, sign up in advance at the Information Desk in person or by phone at 902-566-0696.

Upcoming Resource for Lucy Maud Montgomery's Writings

Thanks to a generous donation from Mrs. Donna Campbell, the Robertson Library is cataloguing the material in the Ryrie Campbell Collection, which represents a substantial proportion of the Library's collection of the writings of Lucy Maud Montgomery. These rich descriptions will be made available both in our Library catalogue (being added now - see an example) and in our LMMI Database (to come). Lindsey MacCallum (a recent Term Librarian hire) has been working on the project together with Simon Lloyd. This will be but one of the new resources that will be available to Scholar's as part of the efforts of the Library and the Lucy Maud Montgomery Institute.

New Staff at Robertson

The Robertson Library welcomed a number of new staff members in July/August:

  • Robyn Thomson is a new Circulation Technician and was previously a student at UPEI and a Student Assistant in the Library.
  • Sarah Fisher is also a new Circulation Technician and is new to PEI, recently moving to the Island from Ontario.
  • Rosie Le Faive is a new Term Librarian and will be working on our new Bowing Down Home Project, a digital collection of Island fiddling music.
