Why can't I read the entire article?

Many articles or other resources are often blocked by a paywall. This means that you are asked to pay to access the article or pay for a subscription to the journal.

DO NOT PAY.

As a student at UPEI, you pay a library fee which we used to purchase access to databases that have many journals and articles we think are most useful to the subjects we study here at UPEI.

If you are just searching with Google, you may come across an article that you can’t view without paying. Try searching the article title in full in OneSearch. If we do have access to the article, you should be able to press “Check@UPEI” to get access to it.

If we do not have access, you can also choose to use InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Check our page on interlibrary loans to find out how to place a request.

Never pay for information! We can almost always find it for you!
