Open Government Data

In recent years many governments at all levels have created online portals for data. These portals provide users with a web page, through which to access government data. Many governments at the federal level have created vast portals and release data sets and information on various subjects. For the most part, this information is the raw data and has not been curated by the government or a third party.

Both the Open Government list and DataPortals.org are detailed lists with portals from around the globe.

Municipal Level

Many municipal governments throughout Canada have created open data portals for the public to use. Canada's Open Data site provides a detailed list of municipal open data sites.
