Creative Commons Licenses

To ensure your work is available to a wide audience it is important to license under the sufficently 'open' creative commons license. Creative Commons was founded in 2001 by the Center for the Public Domain.¹ Creative Commons, "helps you legally share your knowledge and creativity to build a more equitable, accessible, and innovative world.²

On their website Creative Commons provides information about what their licenses do and what to consider when you are choosing a license.³ Also availble on the website is a break-down of the four conditions that can be placed on each license attribution, sharealike, noncommercial, and noderivatives.⁴ A user can chose which conditions they wish to impose on their work.
