New! Easier login to renew books or check fines

Use your username and password to renew books

You can log in to the library catalogue to renew your borrowed items, check in on fines, or place an item on hold. The library catalogue now accepts either

  • your UPEI username and password (just like myUPEI, Moodle, etc)
  • your UPEI ID number and PIN.

What's the difference?

UPEI Username and Password: This username is the first part of your UPEI email address, e.g. lastname (for lastname@upei.ca) or flastname5738 (for flastname5738@upei.ca), and the password that you set up to go with it. This is what you use to log into all other UPEI services, such as myUPEI, Moodle, Panthernet, computers on campus running Windows, the campuscard.upei.ca service, and Shibboleth (the library's databases). If you have a valid UPEI email address, and have a UPEI ID card (campus card), then this login option should work for you.

UPEI ID and PIN: This ID is the 6 or 7 digit number printed on your UPEI ID card. Your PIN is the 4 or 8 characters you received when you got an ID number. This is the same login system that the library catalogue has used for years, and if you could log in before with these credentials, you should still be able to. This option should work for anyone with a UPEI ID card or Robertson Library borrowing card.

Trouble logging in?

Sample UPEI Campus (ID) card showing ID number

Do you have an ID card? UPEI students, faculty, and staff must have a UPEI ID card before they are in our database. This card must be presented in order to borrow books or other items, so if you don't have a card, you don't have any overdues or fines to worry about!

If you aren't able to log in with your UPEI username and password, please check if it works by logging into my.upei.ca. If it does not, there is a link on that login page to change your password. It will require your UPEI ID number and PIN.

If your 8-digit PIN doesn't work, try only the first 4 digits.

If you don't know your UPEI ID number and PIN, please contact ITSS.

If you received a "Robertson Library Borrowing Card" instead of a campus card, contact the library's circulation desk at 902-566-0583.
