Robertson Library, in partnership with TakingITGlobal, is hosting a movie night in the library showcasing a new Canadian documentary called Rising Voices.
Rising Voices, produced by TakingITGlobal in partnership with Heritage Canada, is a poignant and telling motion picture that offers insight into the lives of diverse individuals across Canada — their passions, struggles, and stories. Topics discussed include mental health, indigenous rights, systemic discrimination, expression through the arts, cultural reintegration, environmental sustainability, young love, and refugees. The sole purpose of this film is to give the platform to these young people to let the country know how we can improve on our communities, build upon our success, reconcile and understand that as a community we all have the same desires and drives.
There will be a panel discussion after the film with community members.
