This course provides an introduction to the causes of a variety of natural hazards (tectonic - e.g. earthquakes, tsuanmis, and volcanic activity; meteorological - e.g. hurricanes and flooding; and mass movement - e.g. landslides and avalanches) as well as their impact on human activities and the strategies available to predict and manage such events.
