12 Days of Postcards - Day 5!

Today's postcard(s) is of the St. Dunstan's Basilica fire in 1913. The Basilica currently stands on Great George Street in Charlottetown. Around midnight on March 8, 1913, the largest church in town burned to the ground. Onlookers watched and took pictures of the massive cathedral as it turned to ashes. The fire was covered in many Maritime publications, such as The Guardian, Patriot, and The Maple Leaf  (featured). The rebuilding of the cathedral began almost immediately.
