Robertson Library offers both Windows 7 [Dell] computers and iMacs.
The Windows 7 computers, which include Microsoft Office, WordPerfect Office, OpenOffice (compatible with Microsoft Office documents), and course-related software,require you to log on using your UPEI student network account. The Dell computer in the Foyer, Upper Level, does not require a network login.
The iMacs (running Mac OS X Snow Leopard), which include standard Mac software, Microsoft Office, and OpenOffice, do not require a network login; however, if you wish to print, you will be prompted for your student network username and password.
Access the Library's resources, such as the Library Catalogue and article databases; e-mail; log on to Moodle; and search the Internet from any computer in the Library.
Computers on the Main Level of the Library are located in:
- Learning Commons
- Language Lab
Computers on the Upper Level of the Library are located in:
- Current Periodicals Room
- Computer Lab (available when not booked for a class session)
- Group Study Rooms (Roms 302 and 306 are also equipped with a SMARTBoard)
- Stacks (DG-DS call number area, adjacent to the emergency exit)
- Individual Study Room 331
- Upper Foyer (for searching the Library Catalogue)
The UPEI wireless network is available throughout the Library.
Help is available in person at the Library IT Help Desk in the Library Learning Commons during these hours.
You may also want to check out Atomic Learning, an online training video database. Atomic Learning offers tutorials on software applications such as the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Google Docs, Moodle, SPSS, and Twitter. The Atomic Learning database can be accessed from Article Databases, located in the top banner of any Library webpage.
