PEI Cattle Producers conducts cost of production study

Abstract

Dynamic Outcomes Consulting conducted a cost of production study for the PEI Cattle Producers that showed the average cost of maintaining a beef cow on PEI for one year is $867.44. The study also showed that there were two distinct groups of producers--full time beef operators and part time beef operators. Feed proved to be the largest cost component for all sectors of livestock producers.
