Off-Island Students & Interlibrary Loan

UPEI students who are enrolled in online degree programs and live outside of PEI but within Canada are eligible for the services described on this page.

All students must fill out the ILL request form found on the Library homepage.

All charges incurred from lending libraries and mailing charges are absorbed by Robertson Library.

ILL needs a mailing address for each student requesting loans.

Books may be borrowed from Robertson Library and the CAUL-DDG consortium libraries. ILL cannot borrow items from outside the consortium for distance students. The Robertson Library and CAUL-DDG has an agreement in place for borrowing books that will be sent out of province.

Books owned by Robertson Library

Books will have a loan period of 4 weeks with the option to renew and be sent via Purolator or Express Post to the student’s home. A pre-paid return mailing label will be provided.

Books requested through Interlibrary Loan

Books obtained from CAUL-DDG libraries will have a 2 week use loan period. They will be sent via Purolator or Express Post with a pre-paid return label. No renewals will be granted.

Articles/book chapters will be emailed with attached pdf link.

The ILL office will also copy articles from Robertson Library bound journals and chapters from books.

Please note that due to copyright restrictions ILL can only scan one chapter or 10% of a book and one article per journal at any one time.
