Circulation Borrower Regulations for Faculty
HOW TO BORROW:
Faculty must have a Campus Card to borrow Library materials. Any fines incurred are the responsibility of the borrower. The Library is not responsible for lost cards which are to be reported to the Circulation Desk and to UPEI Security Services immediately to prevent unauthorized use. Your card may have been found and returned to Circulation or Security Services. Please check before obtaining a replacement card. There is a replacement charge of $20.00 for a lost Campus Card.
BOOK LOAN PERIOD:
Faculty have a loan period of 120 days, with two renewals. You can renew by phone, in person, or online.
RETURNING LIBRARY MATERIAL:
Library material should be returned to the Circulation Desk, as fines are assessed according to the date/time such material is actively received in the Circulation area. When the Library is closed, the book drop outside the Library can be used.
All items are to be returned to the Library on or before the due date. Borrowers can check their due dates on the Library's Online Catalogue by selecting My Account, or My Account from the Library's homepage. Failure to return an item by its due date will result in an overdue fine. Fines are paid at the Circulation Desk.
Overdue items are assessed a fine of $0.25 per day, per item.
Holds can be placed through Library's Catalogue, or by staff at the Circulation Desk on material which is already signed out. (Holds cannot be placed on non-circulating items, such as Reference material.) There is a maximum of five holds per borrower.
LOST AND DAMAGED MATERIAL:
The penalty for lost or damaged material is $50 minimum. The charge covers replacement and processing costs. Do NOT purchase your own copy of lost/damaged materials to offer as a replacement - this will normally not be accepted.
SUSPENSION OF ALL BORROWING PRIVILEGES:
All borrowing privileges will automatically be suspended when a borrower has reached $10 in fines.
PLEASE NOTE: For additional information, please inquire at the Circulation Desk or telephone 566-0583.
